Ford , What Ford?
Greetings from Bonney Lake Washington (heep70, Howdy neighbor).
You can blame my presence here on roachrider or your collective tolerance of other than 67-72 F-series owners. By accident or some great design I have aquired not one but two F-series over the years . An 82 F-100 300 six that had provided years of service until tossing rods out the side of the block this past week (it had only been making the piston noise of death for three years and over 40,000 mi so imagine my surprise :-/ ). The other truck is the 62 unibody with a small block of dubious origin and questionable history that I have had for over 15 years . This truck may well be held together by the mold moss and rust that has taken up permanent residence throughout (the only thing I really hate about the truck is every time I turn the key it starts).
I'm the sob that roachrider blames for his envolvement in Kawasaki Police motorcycles. I'm also recruited for his welding projects and other semi-legitimate activities (I'll refrain from any stories about cheby big blocks or girl scouts here so you're relatively safe Aaron. Besides you keep my secrets).
Truth be known if cut I'd bleed Kawasaki green or Chevrolet blue . This isn't because of any life long brand loyalty or insane prejudice for any brand it's just a quirk of fate that most of what I've owned has been Chevrolet.
I'll thank you all ahead of time for your tolerance and humor as I ask all kinds of ID10T questions about this foreign language called FOMOCO .
Dennis

There are two major pressure changes in a four stroke internal combustion engine , when you light the fire and when the rods exit the block.

Welcome from your neighbor in West Seattle, a place so liberal we will go around the block to avoid making a turn to the right.
Any chance of seeing a picture of the unibody? A few years back I saw an incredibly nice 62 uni at the Portland swap meet and have had a soft spot for them ever since.
Hey, go ahead and tell all of roachriders secrets, we're all friends here!

Hi and welcome from Pennsylvania. Sit down and shoot the breeze. FoMoCo isn't a hard language to learn it's just a bit hard for the Chebby faithful to understand. The entire language is based on the word "reliable". Reliable in Chebby language means it starts most of the time.Reliable in FoMoCo means it starts every time.
The only Chebby engine that might, now I said might run 40 grand with a broken piston was a 283.

re: Ford , What Ford?
to the site, there are 1 or 2 of us here that have Chevy's or other makes as well, we just keep most of that part quite
A lot of people here have lots of different years of rigs and knowledge and this site has good people on it to help with what ever, and were always up for good stories and entertainment.

Welcome from the other side of the Puget Sound, lovely Poulsbo. I have to say my first resto project was a 68 GMC stepside. I have found that this forum is sort of like the military, its policy is don't ask & don't tell.
