250 4X4 disc swap

Post by James72 »

Can someone tell me what I need to do the swap? I'll be going to the local wrecker to remove the parts myself but don't want to waste time on stuff I don't need, it's a '72 crew 4X4 F250 I'm unsure of the axle, 44 or 60 (tag missing), but it dose have the Dana 24 transfer case if that is normally with one or the other. Thanks for any help

The entire front axle from a 76-79 F-250 4x4 is all you need.

Ideally, if you can get the master cylinder, proportioning valve, all the lines and the front axle you're a big step ahead. The lines and hoses are completely different. If you get everything down to the brake hose to frame brackets and all you'll have a very easy time bolting it all together.

The 76-77 disc axle steering arm will work perfectly with the old manual or power assist steering. The 78-79 steering arm (on a D44 front) is different and uses a larger tie rod taper size and sits in a different spot.
