You can buy you a tool but its 500 bucks. It welds little tabs and then you can take a puller and pull them out. A body shop woud probley do the same thing. Once your done you just grind the tabs off. My truck was hit right where the dent is on your truck.

The hole side of the bed was sticking out a inch on mine. Well the body man thats doing mine had to take a comealong and put on one side. And it still did not get it so he has to get his tractor out  to pull it all back into place. He said that was one of the hardest things he has ever fixd. It was all dented where the bed seam was welded at.

tool for 500? cant you just weld some hooks or whatever on and grind them off?
what does the tool do?

and how much do you think a body shop would charge to remove that scrape and the door dent(it is as wide as the door, and goes in about a inch or so)?

Hey Ryan, the tool has a spot in the front where you put a stud(nail looking thing) and it welds it on, then you use a puller on the stud and grind off the stud. (I think......LOL)

I have seen those stud welders at Harbor Freight for around $120, any one suppose one of those would work for a job like this. Mine has the same problem where I brushed a bollard a few years ago.

you can try getting the tool and doing it yourself or you can go down to a body shop and ask them about pulling out the dent. Sometimes, if that is the only dent, they will do it for about $50 to just do the dent. Then later you can do the sanding and smoothing of the spot.

ive got that some dent on my drivers side. youl have to drill three holes and make a puller to pull it out then patch the holes and re-paint it.

i dont think you can just knock that out. that will probably have to be pulled out. or find another door that someone is giving away.

ill try and see what happens tomorrow.
so with these dents, i just need to have Hal (PO) weld some sort of hook or tab on the dented part, and then we can pull the dent out with something, then grind them off and sand?
doesnt sound too hard.

Man oh man. If it was me I woud take it to a shop. You have got to trust them. Mine had the same deal but not as bad. The guy just workd them for a wile tell there all the way out and he put a paper thin layer of bondo on it.

This is the part im woried about. There is a lot of shops with will put a lot of bondo of something like thats and maybe a year later it will crack and fall out.

But if you want to make that all most a show truck I woud wate untell you got ready to paint the hole thing. Just get it where you can drive it and the engine is runing good. body work don't make it steer any better or what ever. It might get some girls in the truck but you will be spinding a lot more money on them then that truck  .

Ps TheEskimo got it right about the stud welder gun

exactly. The rest of the truck looks like it would be worth doing that bodywork, and I would stop into some guys bodyshops and see what you can have THEM do it for. The lower door looks like it will nees a new lower door skin welded in
