Newbie from St Andrews West, Ontario, Canada

Post by dancer_99_ca »

Hi All,
Time to update and expand my profile originally created Oct. 2007.
I have to admit I'm another blue oval addict. My first vehicle was a 1950 businessman's coupe,
followed by a 1964 Sunliner (sweet 4 gettin' chicks). Then I went Brit Ford with Mk I, II, and III
Cortinas in succession. In the '80's I headed back to Detroit iron with a 'stang, Fairmont, sprinkled
with a little German flavour, a MK I Capri. Then I went Japanese for a decade and back to Ford
again with an Escort. Recently I purchased a 1971 Ford F100 which spent all it's life in Sweetwater
Tennesse until it arrived by big truck hauler to my home in southern Ontario, Canada. It's not
pretty but it's solid. Your member 1970FordTK sez a profile is worthless without a pic so here it
is.....respendent in it's faded no, non-existant seafoam green paint. It's now being prepped for
new paint.

Due to my passion for cars I chose to become a mechanic, completed all the theory and apprentice
requirements, then decided I didn't want to do this as a vocation. Never worked a day as a class A
mechanic and opted instead to go back to college to study forestry and worked in that occupation
until my recent retirement.
In the '70's and 80's I got into road racing, first in an MGB and later with a Capri. That automotive
theory sure was helpful in maintaining/improving the performance of a full race prepared car.
Favourite tracks were Le Circuit at Mt Tremblant, Watkins Glen NY, and Mosport. Least favourite was
Lime Rock CT. Sorry I got a bit long winded with this. This site rocks and I look forward to being part
of your community.
Carl

Hi 67merc,
Just answering your question....one year later.
St Andrews West is located near Cornwall, an hour from
either Ottawa or Montreal
