All '68-'69 trucks equipped with a 390 got the 390 emblems.

From Body Trim and Insignias:

AFAIK these CS emblems aren't getting reproduced. You'll have to find a set in the junkyard or E-bay.

I was thinking I'd seen them in a catalog or two, but just flipped through all the ones I have here and didn't see them. Good used ones do come through E-bay all the time though.

I'd be interested in a set too...

The ones on my '68 CS need replaced as well.
Does any one know how to remove them without breaking the pins off?
Every single one I have found, has had at least one on of the pins broken off...
I had found one good one on a '69 CS Ranger at the wrecker
I was being as careful as I possibly could trying to get it off and busted two of the pins

they should be like the rest of the emblems. there is a nut on the back, so you should be able to turn that to take it off.

The fender-mount emblems do have a nut on the back. For all other years, they simply snap into place on the cowl. The reason most have a pin broke off is that whoever took it off didn't work each end of the emblem up and out. Instead, they tried to pop one side completely out first, which will bend and bind the other side.

Hey Keith...

How do you remove the the fender mounted type on the 67-69 CS?

I have been told that the only sure way to get them off without breaking them, is to remove the fender first and hammer them out from the back side.
A guy showed me that when he took the 390 emblems off a set a fenders he had for me.
I was being super careful working both ends evenly and trying to keep the middle level.
I even had a small trim removing tool to boot..
one of the ends and a middle pin broke off before I could get it removed.
I am glad that one side was already broken...
I would have felt sick if I had been the one to mess up the first one...
since I broke the remaining one, it wasn't like I had messed up a set ...
Would spraying them down real good with a lubricant help ???

The fender-mounted 390 emblems are just held on with a speed nut...remove the nut and the emblem will fall out on it's own.

It's the cowl-mounted emblems which are pushed into barrel nuts. These emblems have to be carefully pried off as I described...each pin should get pried out a millimeter or two at a time in sequence. Squirting some WD-40 on each pin might help...it's a good idea that I've never tried.

On these cowl emblems, if it was one that was perfect and I absolutely did not want it to break, I'd tap them out from the back side. Of course, it's only accessible through the upper door hinge area, so the door would have to be removed. Plus you won't have much room to work, but it might be safer to tap them out from the back rather than try to pry them out from the front.
