What flat bed would fit?

Post by cghstrojan08 »

I was thinking about putting a flat bed on my 69 f100. What would all fit? I have seen one at the junkyard on a 67 f250 or f350. Any other years? Is it also possible to put the rear end with 8 lugs under my truck with the springs? Thanks

My '70 f350 has a Ford factory flatbed. Its 7'X9'. The F350 has a longer wheelbase than the F100. Swapping the rear is probably not too tough. I have a Dana 70 from a '67 DRW F350 here in NY. Its a pretty massive rear end. Ford did make a flatbed for the SRW trucks too.

I'm sure there are all sorts of aftermarket options too. If you swap the rear, you'll have mismatched front and rear wheels too. i think you should stay with the stock rear and find or make a bed that fits your truck. :2cents:

Just an FYI, F100 springs use a smaller-diameter bolt to connect the spring pack to the frame mounts than an F250 (or larger). If installing F250-up springs on an F100, you'll need to carefully enlarge the bolt holes in the frame mounts and use the larger bolt. But be careful...don't get the holes too large or the springs will move around on you, obviously not a good thing. Make the hole just a hair larger than the bolt shank.

How about putting a flatbed on my grandpa's 1976 F-350?
