Steering column question

Post by flyboy2610 »

I have a C6 tranny. The metal 'finger' at the bottom of the column that moves the lever on the neutral safety switch broke, so the PO just wired the safety switch over to one side. I need to replace that finger, and the safety switch while I'm at it, cause that one doesn't look too healthy.
My question is: Can I drop the column far enough to replace these without disconnecting the tranny linkage? I'd rather not have to do that right now.
