Crew Cab interchange...

Hello,

I've been fortunate enough to come across two Crew ("Six Man") Trucks, one a 67 2WD and the other a 69 Highboy... the Highboy is a mess, but I know the location of an F-500 Crew from the same era, and was wondering if the cabs/doors/panels will interchange? I've heard they will, I've heard they won't... Thanks in advance!

Anything can be made to work but they do not directly interchange. The cab mounts are different. Also, the steering column is routed differently through the cab. There is no notch in the bottom of the dash and it exits out near the floor instead of the firewall. It can be made to fit, but would take some torching and welding. Maybe the '67 and '69 can be combined into one heck of a high boy.

I didn't think they made a factory Hiboy crew cab??

and there are quite a few differences between the Bigger (F-500 and up) and the smaller trucks.

All Highboys have divorced trannies, but that doesn't mean that all divorced trannies are Highboys. F100s had the divorced setups too.

Yep. Every 67-77.5 F-250 4x4 has the same basic suspension and ride height from the factory. 30-40 years of differing use makes these trucks all sit different today, but they were all the same.

Crewcabs had the same chassis as standard cabs, though I think they all came with the heavier front axle that was an upgrade for the standard cab trucks.
