steering column
I have a 70 F-250 I changed to power steering. On this site the instructions say to drop the spring in the column then slide the shift lever in and then the shift tube. If i put the spring in first then the lever won't go in all the way. If I put the lever in first then the spring has too much pressure and I can't get the tube in. Am I missing something? Thanks, Don

re: steering column
The spring does need to go in first. When you go to insert the shift lever, you'll probably have to use it to slightly compress the spring, which will allow you to get the lever in all the way.
The way you're doing it, you're inserting the shift lever into the side of the spring, rather than getting it on top of the spring. Hopefully that make sense.

I've tried and tried again, but if the spring is in I can't get the shift lever centerd. The spring is in the way. If I can't center it I can't get the tube in the lever. Don
