bolts for rear leaf springs

Post by greasemonkey1234 »

i am restoring a 67 f-100 it has 3/4 ton flex-o-matic leaf springs in the rear. I am using the polyurethane bushing set in the front and the rear. in any of the years of 67-72 pickup trucks did they use diferent size bolts in the front and rear hangers. I have a 5/8 hole and a 9/16 hole for the bushings but not on the frame. there is (2) 5/8 bushings and (6) 9/16 bushings. any information would be a help i am hoping to have a rolling chassis in a couple of weeks. i am 20 and have bulding this for a year now i don't have any idea what i am doing but i am learning as i go.

yes there were 2 sizes, when i put the d70 on my truck i had to hunt real hard thru all my stuff to find some good 9/16 bolts from another truck i parted out before. the 5/8 bolts i bought new at the hardware but they did not have any 9/16. ford used lots of 7/16 and some 9/16 so i save those sizes whenever i can.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.
