leaf spring bushings

leaf spring bushings
When you guys repaced your rear leaf spring bushings what is the best way to get them out and if i have to cut them out do the flex-o-matic rear suspention take different bushings than the other because the parts store never asked me what suspention I have when calling for prices

Burn them out.

Burning them out with a torch is probably the easiest way. If you don't have access to a torch, you can just drill out the rubber and then bang out the steel sleeve. That's how I did mine....I've got some pics posted of the process at the following link:

Yea they are made to be pressed in and out but if you dont have a hydralic press might as well burn em out . I had mine done all 6 bushings in and out 85.00

i use a fire-wrench.
if you dont like burning rubber (or have picky neighbors) go to a spring shop.
