66 to 73 brakepedal and stop light switch
I HAVE A 66 f250 CAMPER SPECIAL WITH MANUAL DRUM BRAKES. tHE STOP LIGHT SWITCH IS MOUNTED ON THE MASTER CYLINDER. WHEN YOU CHANGE TO POWER DISC THE SWITCH WORKS OFF THE PEDAL.
IF YOU CHANGE THE PEDAL DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN BRACKET TO TO SHUT OFF THE SWITCH ?

Not necessarily, but it wouldn't be that difficult, since it simply means a couple quick spotwelds of the brake switch bracket on the pedal and pedal bracket, but you could also just tee off one of the brake lines where it exits the master cylinder and screw the brakelight switch into that.

here is what i found. power brake booster are avalible for your truck at the arts store including the master cylinder. both togther are around 70.00. but this will not include the brackets for mounting the booster in a truck that had manual brakes. so basically what you really need is the brackets that would be the way to go is to get some brackets to fit the correct booster and you wouldn't have to try and make up a new way of mounting the brake switch. but the t in the line is an easy way to go also.

re: 66 to 73 brakepedal and stop light switch
I can buy a booster and master that were stock for my 66 but it is only a single bowl which is what i am trying to get away from. There are plenty of trucks to pull parts from in the local pick apart. Of course trying to find one with all the parts intact isnt always easy. getting a booster out of 68 to 79 with brackets really wouldnt be much of a problem. I just want to make sure everything works. hopefully Ican just change the pedal rewire the switch and make a bracket to shut off the switch

you need to use the complete setup from a later truck 67-up.
you can do as i did and use the tee for your switch or make a bracket for your pedal and lengthen the wires to reach.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

nice bracket. excellent idea. Why is it necessary to use later swing arm assy.? I know some of the later swing arm brackets have a tang for the switch made in an the pedal has switch mount on it.

re: 66 to 73 brakepedal and stop light switch
missed the disc brake part.
on the manual brakes converting from a single to dual mc, the single mc pushrod is too short, and the dual pushrod is 1" too long.i just cut off the 1".
on the power brakes i am not sure if the rod coming out of your booster can be changed to just add the dual mc .
i do not believe you need to change the pedal arm.
theres more info on the 66 conversion here:

sorry if i confused you.
edit: link fixed.
