Fatmans Shop Truck

Post by Calvin Gunter »

I just saw the latest issue of Classic Trucks with the Fatmans shop truck on the cover and all I can say is AWSOME.I can just see my 67 looking like that, especially with my 285/70 BFG's under the back instead of the 255's they have. Can anyone in the know tell me what they did in the rear besides the c notch?I'm guessing they put like a drag car four link with really short air bags.Anyone heard a price for the front and rear set up from Fatman's.Man just when I thought I would be happy with the dropped I beams and rear hangers this mag comes out. What to do now?TIA,Calvin

All they had was a small c-notch with air bags instead of rear coilovers. The system with coilovers is about $1200.

That is Grant Peterson from Primedia. He is building a 68 Ford with FatMans IFS and 4 link setup. Keith sent him a shirt and he worked it into the shot. THat is gonna be a year long build that they are doing in the mag.

I guess all the front sheet metal, engine, transmission, and bed have to be removed for both kits right,or just the engine and suspension.Does anyone know if Fatmans does the installs on customer vehicles?Probably not without a steep labor bill.Man this has got my little rusty gears turning in my head.I gotta do it!

The front would almost have to be stripped for the install. The rear can be done with the bed and all still installed. I bet there labor is outrageous for sure if they even do it. Yeah that is the route for sure I am doing on the rear with the 4 link. Still haven't for sure talked myself into the front, but looks like I will probably go that route also.

I live about thirty minutes from Fatman's, and it is cool to see that truck running around town. It is a great looking truck and they are a very helpful bunch of guys. Give them a call with any questions about there products, and they are more than glad to talk.

a local shop could put it on or you could do it yourself. the crossmember is nice. just make sure you get before you tear you truck apart . when i order mine they said they would send it right out. i fugure about week but it took almost a month. after calling acouple times they told me they had to fab it up. also you could get a compressor from a junk yard off a 90's town car.
