I think they are too. I'll find out tomorrow afternoon, got a dentside out there minus the headlights, and have to dink around with the final fitting of the harness tomorrow on the `69.

On the 77 f150 Core support the buckets are built into it at factory. Then the Inserts go around it. Even without a grill on a dentside you still have headlight buckets. or atleast the thiung the buckets sits in is done that way.

Same on the `73 outside, the bucket is seperate from the grill, and you can pull the grill of with the buckets in place.

The dentside and bumpside radiator supports are basically the same there. There's an indention in the support to clear the headlight bucket. However, I'm not sure if the '78s and '79s with the square headlights continued to use the same core suport or not. I'll have to check that.

Anyway, to answer the original question, the headlight buckets themselves should be the same between the two eras...I don't know why they'd be different, since they have basically the same core support and use the same headlights.

yeah i double checke mine and they do look very similar infact i think i replaced one on the red and black truck in my sig with the one off the 77.

Does the newer supports built inbucket holder work with the older grill? Or do they have to be removed?

i don't think the core support is any differnent even with the square headlights. its just a bucket change is all thats need on 78 79 to go from round to square.

My 72' has a core support and inner fenders from a 78'/79' square headlamp truck. Core support fits just fine. Had no problems with my 72' grille and headlamp buckets.

Alright then, thanks guys, I'll give it a try and let you know. The '67 had a light bucket that's garbage and I have a '76 that I'll more than likely end up parting out so I'll grab the bucket out of it.

I have another question, Dennis Carpenter & LMC shows headlight buckets for 67-69 but not for 71 & 72, are these the same.

I haven't tried the 76 bucket on the '67 yet, but to add to the conversation; FWIW I put the headlights and grill assembly from a '79 on my '77 without any alterations. Core support was the same, at least in that area.
