All right anybody got a good wiring diagram for a 67 alternator regulator and alt gauge circuit. The highboy is trying to liquify it's battery at 15.2 volts. Heres what i've done.
Put on a new regulator. Burnt to crisp.
Checked alternator had open internal stator circuit installed rebuilt unit. Repared damaged alternator grounds.
now somebody has been messing with the wiring cause the stator wire wasen't even there in the first place i've checked all the circuits to the voltage regulator to the alternator all the wires are a okay just with all the looms and stuff gone it's a tangle of madness.
The alternator cuts back to 12.4 when i hook the stator terminal up to the batt. However that's not right since it's cutting it back too far and it will just melt the wire down. I need to now what if any relay or resistor is in the circuit for the stator on the alternator. It's late i probably didn't make any sence but any input welcome if confused ask and i will clarify.
67' overcharging difficulties.

assuming your original wire that goes where it should under the dash is still intact i have a passenger side loom that goes all the way in to the cab.
10.00 plus shipping. does that sound good?

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

It sounds good but let me see what i've got going first i'm mainly needed what ford man just threw up there. The diagram should help let me see what i've got in my harness, but stay steady i might need yours.rjewkes wrote:assuming your original wire that goes where it should under the dash is still intact i have a passenger side loom that goes all the way in to the cab.

hopefully your alternator has been upgraded to a 65 amp one as well as your volt reg. If not i doubt the 70-72 loom will work.

re: 67' overcharging difficulties.
The 'stator' terminal is just there to turn off the idiot light. The 'field'
terminal controls output. The regulator 'ground' causes overcharging
if it's not solid. Ouput voltage should be 14.5volts. With a fully charged
battery.
