Tie Rod/Tie Rod Ends Swap

Post by huntinfordman »

Hello everyone-

Does anyone out there know if you can put 1977 tie rod ends on 1967 tie rods. I am doing a drum to disc swap out and the donor has power steering and my truck is manual.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Also I forgot to ask, will my 1967 radius arms bolt up to the 1977 front end?

Thanks again.

You will need to get the pitman arm off of the 77 to use the 77 tie rods. The radius arms should fit.
See the disc brake tutorial for an explaination on the tie-rod ends.

The tie rods on these trucks don't have replaceable ends. The right side is one piece from the pitman arm to the right front wheel and the left side is two tie rod ends with an adjusting sleeve in between. The 77 ends will screw into the 67 adjusting sleeve.
