remove side molding or not?

Post by wwjd63 »

:D Today I started to do body work on my big green. I was looking at some of the trucks on the photo gallerie on this site. I really like the look with out the side body trim molding, but I don't know how to remove it w/o ruining it :? my big green is a 72 explorer special F250, the trim is I believe the medium trim w/black accents (1-1/2"wide).

Thanks Nick 8)

All side trim pieces are bolted on from the backside on each end and just snap on in the middle.

I took all of mine off my 69 and it was simple. A bunch of clips and a few bolts.

is this the trim that would match for a sport custom? If so would you be willing to sell it wwjd63? Is there a way to save the plastic clips?

how would i fix a 10" long by 1/8 guage-dent in the top of the bump just some bondo?

:( Sorry "rjewkes" I don't know if it would fit :( but as far as the plastic clips 2 broke off when i took the molding off the door. Those things were brittle and just snaped off  . as for your dent yeah use some body filler(bondo). when my wife and son saw the truck w/o the molding they did'nt like it so I will be reinstalling it. need to keep my wife happy :D
