spring option ?

i have a 71 f100 lwb that is pretty basic. I believe it has the lowest gvw of 4500#s. The thing that confuses me is that it has the flexomatic springs. I thought these were a heavier option mostly found on the f250 and heavier f100s. Is this unusual? Also, the truck has a 300-6 but as i understand most have a mechanical fuel pump without a filter on top because this was usually found on the f350s but mine has that pump. Could this be original? Thanks

my 240 fuel pump has a filter on top of it. i think that is correct for your engine. flexomatics are on most of the trucks.
