I'm going to try the disk brake swap into my 67 F250. The donor is a 77 F250 (and the FORDification tech/tutorial on this was great, thanks!)
Since the 67 is currently down for an exhaust manifold and power steering box (fortunately both on the same side), I'm using the wife's Subaru to pick the axle up and haul it home. I got to thinking this might be kind of heavy for the wagon.
Any intelligent guesses about what all this stuff is likely to weight? Can I manage the pull-off with hand tools and big breaker bar or it going to take an impact wrench? What's a fair price for all the axle, king pins, rotors (assuming I can use them), wheel cylinders, master cylinder etc, and all the appropriate bits and pieces?
thanks!

If I understood correctly your talking about the front suspension. and if so it weight around 250lbs. Regular hand tools will work but make sure you have a big breaker bar just in case.

and the Front suspension you can break down into smaller chunks to get it in the car. But you better have a strong back or a friend close by!
I hauled a Dana 60 rear axle (complete) in the back of my '86 Camaro to rescue my '72 90 miles into the desert of Nevada, so I'd say the Subaru will be just fine, since its a wagon. I'd hate to put all that in a trunk!

In life many men take the path of righteousness, some take the path many others follow (G.M. owners, for example), some take a more arduous path, some a simpler path. I, sir, took the PSYCO-PATH!!

Is $200 a fair price for the axle/king pins/rotors/cylinders/etc along with the master cylinder and booster?

I think you'll find it depends on where you live in terms of what is fair. I paid $300 for all that off a 1977 F-150 from a pick n pull in the San Francisco Bay Area so it seems fair to me. But you'll hear from the guys in the middle of the country that they can buy a whole truck for that.lovemy67F250 wrote:Is $200 a fair price for the axle/king pins/rotors/cylinders/etc along with the master cylinder and booster?
