Shocking News

Post by CACWBY »

I can't believe I suffered with crappy shocks on front for 12K miles. I purchased the Slammer & Nitro crap when I bought dropped I Beams, because I knew I needed shorter shocks. And was never very happy and finally got fed up enough to do something about it. I just got some KYB's (I used to have them put on every vehicle (but not lowered) I bought), and man oh man what a difference, no more sweating all the small stuff, and it doesn't keep bouncing after a more serious bump. My ride rides like a ride's supposed too!
A local one man front end shop took the time to find something to fit (I have to get him to write down the application he found) by cross referencing the size with applications, he ordered some for the rear and hopefully thats going to be a big help for the wheel hop problem when I unload on it.
Also had him check my steering damper and it's still fine. Now I'm ready for a road trip and it's probably too late!!!!

The scoop he used looks like one off of a 69-70 Mach 1. I might be wrong but that looks close to what it is.

OK - I just got the rears on and drove back to work, OH Man - I'm in Love with my Truck all over.

If you are also 5" lower in Front and 5"-6" lower in Rear, this might work for you, here's part #'s and application info I got from Jim Piper of Accurate Alignment in Madison WI.

Fronts are KYB 1924093
(87-89 Dakota 4wd P.U.)

Rears are KYB 1924092
(87-95 Jeep Wrangler)

I'm so tickled I could just poop :D
