Ford lettering off hood

how do you get the FORD lettering and f-250 badge off the hood without ruining it? i want to reuse it on the new hood

i think it just unbolts from the back side.

The F O R D letters you can either pry out carefully each side until you can get your finger under it to pull out, or you can use a punch and from the underside of the hood tap out the pins with the punch.

The F100/250 badges on the side of the hood have 2 mounting pins and a nut (similar to an acorn nut) and you just unscrew the nut off the pin, and pull the badge off.

This is how it was on my 69 F100, I assume it's the same on the F250's.

My '71 just has those cheesy stamped speed nuts on them. I thin a 7/16" or so socket is all it takes.
