traction bars

Post by cathynkeith »

I am looking for the best traction bars, I have seen the lakewoods that install on leaf springs and rear end. Any suggestions, suspension will not be lowered.

Real traction bars go to the axle clamps and then the pivot bolt at the front of the spring. Bang bars as we used to call them just grab the front half of the spring and keep it from flexing. That makes the rear half of the spring and the unclamped front parts of the spring do all the work.

Competition engineering makes the best traction bars.
But in my opinion making a set of torque rods are the best option.

you got all the cool stuff in your little truck, so unless you are going for the 70's look, I would go with 4 link and air bags. other wise you are going to loose your bottem suport leaf, if you want them to work, or go with a the top mount dog bone. :? :hmm:

You could also get a set of laddre bars for it. We made a set for my buddies Bronco and it helps a lot. It use to snap ujoints from twisting but not now.
