I'm in the midst of gathering parts for the disc conversion. I want to put the best quality parts on my truck, any recommendations? I need hoses, calipers, rotors, bearings, grease seals, etc...
SummitRacing has a brand called "Powerstop" as well as their own branded drilled/slotted rotors. I'm curious if I'd be better to stick with smooth rotors, even though the drilled/slotted rotors would look nice through the 20" wheels.
In addition, I'm looking for calipers, hoses, etc... I cannot seem to find any caliper upgrades from Baer, Wilwood, etc.... Any idea if someone sells a disc upgrade kit for the 73 F100?
THANKS!!
Ben

When I did my disc Brake conversion I bought my rotors from cquencemotorsports (which is an ebay store) They are cross drilled and slotted, and i am very happy with the product. They are only $100 or so. Just giving suggestions. And i bought all my hoses, calipers(stock), bearings and everything else through my local napa. Good luck

drilled and slotted rotors are better for two reasons. One, they are lighter, which means less rotational mass (which means the wheels can get moving quicker) and two, they disipate heat faster, meaning brake fade isn't as problematic trying to haul down a very heavy truck like ours.
Keep in mind, though, that generally speaking, your brake pads wont last as long with slotted or drilled rotors. Not MUCH of a difference, but you will notice that you're going through brake pads sooner than you were before.
