tranny line question

Post by splavin90 »

so on my FMX trans i've got 3 lines comming off the tranny, one near the filler tube, and 2 on the other side, how do i run it to my tranny cooler in my radiator?
i think that the tube thats by the filler neck is probably returned fluid from the cooler, but out of the other 2 lines i don't know what is the line that i'm supposed to run to the cooler. does anyone have a book that they can scan?

i have a clinton book but it doesn't say anything really...

I am not 100 percent positive about this but as far as I know there should be two trans lines. front and rear on the passengers side.
The front being the pressure line and the rear being the return line.
Is it possible that someone removed one of the pressure check plugs and installed a fitting or line there and never removed it or plugged it back up?
I have never seen any more than two trans cooler lines on any auto trans, ford, chevy or the D brand

I know on some FMX/MX trannies they were actually water cooled.

Tazzman has a setup like that on his fairlane and could help ya out.
