FNG with questions and hello
Hey guys, new guy here. I will be in the corner if you need me but have one question. Did any of the Camper Specials ever come four wheel drive? I don't think they do but I see some trucks advertised like this for sale. Can you experts enlighten me? Thanks and hello from PA.

Welcome aboard!
I don't know if the CS was offered as a 4X4, but I don't think I've ever seen one.

Hello and welcome from West Texas! Add me to the people that have never seen a 4X4 Camper Special. I don't think that means they were never made, though, just means I don't know.

1967 was the last year for the 4x4 Camper Special, as well as the F100 Camper Special. Starting in '68, the package was only available on F250 and F350 2WDs.
I wouldn't think most folks would be apt to want to load up a top-heavy camper on a Highboy anyway...talk about instability!
Welcome from North Carolina!
I once lived in the great land of NC. Lots of tarmac!

Yeah I wouldn't imagine that either. What year-model was your second wife. Sounds like a good off-roader
On another note, I have owned a few "F" series of the next generation body style that this site specializes in and I love these trucks. My favorite hands down was the '76 F100 4x4. I had a '69 F100 with the 352 and that thing rocked. It fell to the rust demon though and I used the top end of the motor for the '76.

When I first crawled under my F100 to look around I just about......
well, anyhow,I'd never seen so many helper springs and really BIG booster shocks and just about everything you could imagine to help this tired thing to haul something really heavy. It has been returned to it's original 1/2 ton config. Rides much nicer too.
