truck electricals wimping out
Can any one help?
My 85' F-350 headlights are on the dim side as are the dash lights. Come to think of it the horn sounds but you can put your head next to it and the sound wouldn't hurt you.
Any ideas out there??

Come to think of it the fuel gage is real slow moving. I have dual tanks and when I switch it takes the guage a couple of minutes to move if at all.
Could this be tied into my other problems????

My dim switch also is a 3-way switch. It give me either high, low or no lights. Could that be the problem?????

The gauge is naturally slow on switching. Turn the key off then on for an instant reading.
Check your grounds, but in the 80s ford really skimped on the wiring sizes. I rewired my 84s headlights straight to the battery with relay controls. SUPER bright with normal bulbs.
I'll post a writeup on how to soon.

Clean and or upgrade the wire size on all your ground leads. I had dim headlights on my old 68 F100 SWB and just cleaning the ground lead behind the left headlight made them go (both) real bright. My halogens were real dim and the same thing was happening on this truck
