Body Work Book?

Post by 72f100 »

I'd like to start doing some of the body work that needs to be done over the summer. However, I would be what you call a rookie. Can any of you recommend a book or something that would be helpful to me in getting off on the right foot?

Some auto part retailers have how-to body repair books in with their vehical repair manuals. Or, just ask us here.

Well, I have a pretty good idea about the bodywork process, but I wanted to have something that I could have out with me while I was working. I'll check some auto part stores.

I'll make this disclaimer first. " I am not trying to sway you or anyone away from this great site" but if you log on to some of the body worker sites, there is a wealth of information from some real experts on them and they are glad to answer any of your questions. Check out www.autobodystore.com, and www.autobody101.com. also www.paintucation.com. These are some of the best sites I have found and I have received a lot of good information about the processes of body repair and painting from them.

Don't worry, disclaimer is unnecessary. FORDification.com is more like a general practitioner...which will work for most people, but occasionally the need for a specialist arises so you must seek specialized help elsewhere. ;) I recommend other sites all the time, if I feel the person can learn better by being around the experts in a specific area.

Those links you posted are great ones, and in fact I've already got them listed on the Links page.
