A big Texas to you. And to answer your question, the whole grille setup will interchange. If you're just wanting to swap inserts they will work but I believe you need to do some modifying as the inserts mount in different locations between a 70 and a 72 grille.

re: New from MO
Welcome Great story thanks for sharing. The 71-72 inserts each have 6 mounting screw locations(4 the same 2 different depths). The 70 inserts each have 4 mounting screw locations(all the same depth)
71-72 2 top,2 bottom, 1 on each side middle
70 has 2 top and 2 bottom but none on the side middle
now for the bad news If I recall correctly the top and bottom locations are all in the same locations but the 71-72 grille shell will have 2 of the 4 mounting screw locations (on each side) offset deeper (I believe the bottom 2). Clear as mud
There are pictures on the site somewhere showing the differences
Enjoy the site

re: New from MO
Update-here are some pics. I plan on bringing it home this week. I'm just trying to decide if I want to make a 4-wheel drive out of it, or leave it a 2 wheel drive. The rust shown in the pics is surface rust believe it or not. [/img]

Looks good!!! Another bump saved!! I would leave it a 2 wd, and find a 4x4 bump. Get on that rust, I am sure it has some nice pitting. My hood looks like that on the under side. Sweet enjoy the ride!!

Welcome!
that looks ike a good project. Take your time and do it right!
If you are not sure what you want...start writing it all down on a peice of paper. It realy helps develope a plan. you will start to see what will work and what will not right away.
good luck!
