I actually haven't fixed mine yet but welding on an extesion and rotating the mount on the housing to straighten the shock out.

That is if I can't come up with the money for the four link and air bags first!!

Yeah the laying flat thing makes them absolutely useless.

in 73 they made the springs wider so you need 72 and down, try taking out your bottom leaf and see what happens, you said you wont be carrying any heavy loads anyways....

I was thinking finding a 67 which I think was the only year of non flexomatic set up and just steal the shackles. Keith said there direct bolt on. I could just buy brand new springs and hangers. What do you think? It's a hassle for simply leveling the truck out huh....

if you buy new springs what will you need from the 67? you plan on getting droped shackles right? you could do that but arent new springs very expensive,it shoulnt be any problem finding some used springs....

if you use shackles and hangers your still going to be too low for what you want,if you want new springs go for it but there plentyfull at the yards around here and im sure down your way too,if you are going to get new springs why not just get lowered ones? or is that what your talking about?

Well I am comfused bro. I was thinking using original style shakles to add old style springs? But the after market drop shackles would bolt on my set up right. Do lowering springs bolt on to my setup? Need advice big time man. :hmm:

ok,no matter what you will need regular shackles,if you lower it you can use dropped shackles and front hangers, but that gives like a 4" drop, you might be able to just use dropped shackles with standard springs for a 2" drop....or you could get dropped springs,i think there 3" and use stock(non flexo) shackles...does this make any sense???

There you go. I will get the factory shackles from a non flexo and just buy the hangers to give me the disired amount which shouldn't be over 3'' while running original style leafsprings. Approve this for me buddy. I had no clue they made drom springs do you have the link? It would be eisier to just buy the new drop springs ran with non flex shakles right?

EACH, I thought that was for a pair. Forget that, just clean up old ones or buy lowering spring. Keiths link to the lowering springs in the section doesn't work. Shoot it at me if you come across it. I just don't know how I am going to get those shakles off. I can't bring my grinder to the junk yard.

the shackle un bolts from the rear of the spring, your thinking of the hanger thats mounted to the frame, you dont need to mess with that part....you really should just try taking out your helper spring,it might give you the look your after for nuthin.....
