do i need 2 of these

Post by customcrewcab »

just wondering if i need 2 adjusible proportioning with a tandem chamber master cylinder. they only have one inlet and one outlet so i don't see how they can ajust both front and rear line presure. if i get two i just need to put one on the outlets of the the master cylinder going to the front and one on the rear.

A proportioning valve is normally installed in the rear fluid line to prevent the rear brakes from locking before the front. There's no reason (and not recommended) to reduce the pressure to the front, at least on the street.

then i can run the front of the master cylinder straight to the front brakes and the rear to the valve and the to the rear brakes? this it what i thought but it didn't understand why the both went to the stock proportioning valve. i guess to have shorter lines so they would be easier to be replace. i am going with integra 6 piston calipers and 13" rotors on a 4 corners so it should stop like a ferrari

thanks

Yeah but when you say the front of the master cylinder, the larger reservoir closer to the firewall goes to the front brakes and the smaller reservoir on the end goes to the rear brakes.
