manual disk brakes or power disk brakes

what is the difference between manual and power disk brakes? id there much performance difference...i know the power ones has a brake booster but is it that much greater...

You get more braking with less effort with power brakes. More of an egonomic thing for lazy people . Just kidding. Power is nice to have unless the engine doesn't run and you're towing it. Then manual all the way.

well with disk brakes power assist is the only way to go with the bigger bore master cylinder the pedal effort is about doubled, you better have a very strong leg if not it one hell of a work out. even with the larger deration cam and a race car I use some sort of power assist if it vacuum or hydraulic it depends mostly on the cam pick or if it diesel(or the amount of vacuum the engine produces)

but if i dont have power assist i dont have to worry about the vaccum do i?? thats only w/ power brakes right?

That's right Army Guy. I've had the manual single piston calipers on several vehicles. It's not that bad. You get used to it after a while. Plus, if your truck stops running on top of a hill, your brakes will function the same as you coast to the bottom. Just watch out for overheating the pads.
