Suspension/lowering

Post by eking66756 »

Help! Need advice on lowering our 72 F-250 4X2. I have seen the drop I-beams for the front and leaf springs for the back. If we only want a 2" drop what would you guys recommend? Are there lowering springs for the front? That seems easiest. What about tire clearance issues? Not sure about wheel size/tire size availability for the 8-lugs. Any advice is sure welcome. Thanks.

yep...if you only want 2" in front go with springs...as far as the back put the shackles...that should lower it 2-3" as well...but to be honest just get the ibeams...i think there worth it....but then again if your going for the stock look but a lil sportier....then just go with springs....

If you're not ever planning on using the truck for heavy hauling, why not consider swapping in an F100 suspension? It'll bolt right up with no modifications, yet having a 5-lug setup will make finding custom wheels much easier.

Have you read the lowering tutorial here on the site? It's kinda basic, but will give you an idea of what's available.
