Sorry guys. The internet server crashed last night.
Barry, you got it!! I shortened the pushrod by turning the nut in 1 full turn. I went that far because when I un-bolted the mc, it was pushed out about 1/2 at first contact between the rod and mc. I basically left about 1/8 gap from the booster to the mc without the bolts on. I bench bled the mc, which was like one pump.
I noticed the pedal itself moved down at least an inch. This is nice since it was practically smacking me in the chin before, it was soooo high.
For those that mentioned the front brake hoses, those were just replaced within the last month.
Thanks for all the help, again, everyone!!! I shouldn't be posting up any questions on the 68 for a bit now. It's time to tackle the time-sert/spark plug repair in the 99 F150.
You guys rock!!!!
Now the front brakes won't release!!!

Thanks! It actually went much smoother than thought. I have the Big-Sert installed. I still have to put everything back together. It only took me 6 hours to tear down the engine enough to get a clear shot at the #8 spark plug hole!!

re: Now the front brakes won't release!!!
I got it back together today. It only took about 3 hours to re-assemble everything. I fired it up and it ran a little rough at first. Probably all the grease I stuffed in the flutes of the cutting tools. After a minute at idle, it began to smooth out. Another minute, and it's running better than I remember. And no ticking noises. It's nice to have the 99 back in action. The wife was happy that I didn't have the mechanics install a new motor for $6500!!!!!! So, I figure she owes me about $6000.

I think it's a crying shame that Ford hasn't owned up to this problem.

Yeah, she reminded me that her full time job is the house and kids. I was definitely joking. She's a wonderful woman!!! That reminds me, I have to post up in the General Discussion about her first ride in the 68 last week!!fordman wrote:maybe you can get it in trade for some house work?
