68 F250 C6 linkage bushing

Post by Vwbuggin69 »

So I failed. Royally. I attempted to install the bushing pictured below in my c6 after the old one let loose in the Autozone parking lot. It also killed my neutral safety switch but that was easy. I have tried pliers, channel locks, Vice grips, the bolt and nut method. Had a washer, 2 washers, boiled the dang thing in water. Nothing. It just squished up on the arm. I c-clipped the linkage back in the whole and went on my merry way. How the fudge do you install these? Is this the right one?

Really need a side view of that one but I don't think it is the right one.
The correct bushing, (oh yeah how many of these I've dealt with and the hours on the side of the road due to them) is more "conical/funnel" shaped and should look like this dent era DC has listed.
I'd give DC a call and see if it cross reference as I'm pretty sure it does:
