I have a 1972 f250 360 sport custom. Would like to change my amp gauge to a volt gauge. Does anyone have pictures showing how to do this. My instrument panel has the printed circuit. Could use some info
Also going to a 100 amp alternator
Thanks in advance

Re: Amp gauge to volt gauge
Here are a couple threads that discuss this, according to this, your instrument cluster and printed circuit boards are different as well as your wiring harnesses. The first thread talks about hooking up aftermarket amp gauge etc. Hope this helps!

Re: Amp gauge to volt gauge
You can‘t use the wiring from the ammeter on the voltmeter.
A Voltmeter needs basically 3 wires:
12v IGN
Ground
12V for Lamp
You have a 12V ignition source on the input of your IPVR on the Cluster, in the older models this is a black/green stripe wire.
Ground is easy.
12V for lamp should be picked up from the cluster lamp feed. It should be a blue/red stripe wire in the harness. I think you cant pick it up directly on the cluster because it‘s all printed circuit and the cluster lamps are directly contacting the printed circuit.
Cheers

Re: Amp gauge to volt gauge
I want to install a volt gauge from rocketman so it match’s all my gauges. So what do you need to do to the printed circuit board to disconnect amp gauge wiring and convert to volt meter.
Thank you
Thank you

Here is an Auto Restomod youtube that sounds like just what you need to do the conversion without changing out everything:
