Basically I'm trying to switch from front drums to front disks on a '69, 3/4 ton, two wheel drive f250.
My first question is: Do i need to swap spindles/axles with a donor that already has disk brakes? The spindle (part 3105 in the picture) looks similar to the one already installed on my truck. If i don't need to swap it seems like it would be much easier right? The only part I need to locate for that would be part number 2B301 which I could take from a donor truck
If i do need to switch there is a '71 f250 with disks less than half an hour away from me. Should I just swap the entire axle? Would this require any changing of steering linkages and whatnot? I know I need to change the pitman arm from the power steering gear box at least.
I have lots of questions about it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated as I can't seem to find any two sources that will agree with one another
