69 F250 long to short bed, Crown Vic 4.6 full frame swap.
I've been a fan of XR4Tis for many years but with SMOG & a wife with a horse that needs to carry hay things had to change.
I hate SMOG laws (in Cali) but love the convenience of new technology.
Hmmm...how to combine the two.
My first course of action was to put everything from the 04 Vic onto the truck frame while shortening it as well.
I turned out nice but I just didn't really like the fit & finish.
So I started again!
This time using the entire Vic chassis, floor & firewall!
This is where I'm at:
Here are some videos as well.
First the truck on the truck frame:

& now the truck (in process) going onto the Vic frame:

Can I ask you..what about the fit and finish didn't you like? I'm mid way into a cv swap and I also shortened my frame.

I used everything out of the CV.
All the HVAC, Steering column, pedals, switch gear...everything.
When it came down to the finer details I really missed the OEM fit & finish of the original CV that I couldn't replicate.
This way everything is OEM.
The cv dash, everything under the hood (I'm trying to use the CV inner fenders & mate them to the truck inner uppers).

I had this exact same idea, only I was thinking of doing it to my 76' ford f150. Do you have any pics of the back of the cab where it meets the CV frame? Also do you forsee any problems with the dash, and steering colmn being to close to the seat? Thanks, Glad to see someone doing this, look forward to seeing some more updates on the progress!

There definitely is less room with the dash & steering wheel pushing further into the cab.
I have the CV seats in now which have a very thick rear back rest.
Im 6'2" & I've been talking to a guy who's done it who's 6'4" he uses the truck seat modded to the CV floor & doesn't have a problem.
This is my first one.
I may be able to buy another inch if I move the cab back a little. I just have to play with wheel placement in the arches.
