Psychrometric Chart

Post by Cheryl »

Hello,
Does anyone know where I can buy or get a large Psychrometric Chart? I have printed several off the web but would like one a little easier to read and perhaps laminated?
Sure could us a LARGE one if anyone knows where to get one.
Thanks! Cheryl

For what application? A quick google search for psychrometric chart high resolution gives a lot of possibilities https://www.google.com/search?q=Psychro ... resolution many of which are 18"x24" or possibly larger. I right clicked on one and selected "View Image" and it allowed me to view it magnified to full size. My 24" monitor would only hold about 1/3 of it and I had to scroll around to see the rest of it. You could save it to your hard drive and send to a photo center locally and they can print it for you. My local Walgreens offers poster sized printing of my photos up to 24" x 36".

Thanks! I also gggled it and got lots of results, but they all print out too small, even full size paper, [8x11] is hard to read, [maybe just my eyes] I never thought about having it printed by a photo shop. Maybe I'll check and see if photo bucket has a way to print it bigger. Thanks for the help/ideas. Do you use a chart like this in your paintbooth?

I'm not very scientific, more of a trial and error kind of guy. And lots of errors has been a real trial. :D

Well, you have my interest also. They are used a lot in the HVAC business. I use a psychrometer and slide charts all the time.

Sorry just saw the question...I have been painting, the chart is for figuring out the dew point. When painting some high end paints, [and others too] you need to know the dewpoint of when and where you are going to paint. :D Just like you need to know the temp of the paint booth etc.

Try contacting a good HVAC shop. They might give you one for free.

I searched "determining dew point" and came up with a number of answers and formulas. Each psychrometric chart is individually determined by someone if I remember correctly, i.e., Johnson, Trane, and Chrysler etc. all have their own charts. The company whose paint you are using might be of some help in providing the information you need. I good Thermodynamics book probably would have charts as you need them to solve all types of problems. Just remember the surface thereon is theoretical and the actual condition may not even be on the surface of the chart.
