Hello from WI and MO! 67 SWB

Post by 798jman »

I'm new on here as of today. Have creeped the forum for a couple years now to start my current truck. It is a 1967 F100 SWB that I bought from my uncle last year for $500. He bought it 15 years ago and drove it for a year and parked it. I drove it a couple times around the farm before I got my license. I am now 28. This is my first "real" project. I have a 67 mustang and a 72 c10. So I'm being long winded but I have to share my story with people that listen. My wife only cares about the Mustang. Lol I am from Southwest Missouri and moved to Northern Wisconsin 8 years ago after meeting my wife. My Grandpa has always been a ford man and after 80 years of being alive, he has acquired quite a few trucks. Currently on the farm, there are around five bumps and a few dents for parts or whole. Also luckily for me he has a a couple of bigger trucks too so I have f500-700 (?) parts to use. When I went down to pick up the 67 I bought a 2006 police cruiser from a wrecker that purchased a few of them. I think I had to give $600 for the entire car. I removed the suspension/engine/trans all in one. (Unbolted subframe and picked the body off of it. Haha) so I got back to WI and commenced to building. I got the old stripped and the new in before having to go back on the road for work. I build cross country pipelines so I'm only home about a month at a time between jobs unless it's winter and then it's 3-4 months. I haven't worked on it since being off this winter. It get pretty cold up here and my build is a driveway build. I have been getting back into the planning stage on things I need to get it buttoned up. I am going carburetor(Holley390 4bbl) and. MSD stand alone ignition for the 4.6 and a Baumann USShift trans controller for the 4r70w. Also am considering a late 90's Explorer rearend or keep the 9" and use lug adapters. Haven't figured out a color yet. I have a couple f600 gauge sets but I want to put modern but classic looking gauges in one. Move the fuel tank to the bed or under the bed. Other than small things that's my plans. I'll add some pics from my collection. Sorry again that this is a long intro and thanks for all of the knowledge from everyone. -Jake

Hello from the U.P.!!!! I used to live in Wisco. Hard to find bumpside parts. Even harder here.
Keep us updated. I know the driveway/shop syndrome all to well.
