Rear window trim

Post by shortbedCUSTOM »

I was scouring the local bone yard the other day just looking for something interesting that I might want for my truck and I came across a '69 that has chrome trim around the rear glass. This is the first time I see one in person and had only seen pictures of it on this site. Including one that someone is selling here also. Question is this. How common are these and what trucks were they offer on? Also, will it fit my '68?

If not mistaken the Ranger model only was fitted with the chrome trim. The front and back window with the trim is said to be a more difficult and must mention more stressful to install, but it will fit your truck.

I could not tell you about the install of trim/rubber but i have read a few horror stories about it. To get the old window out I bet you will have to cut rubber out with razor knife which will cause you to buy new seal.

Buy a new seal that is for the trim. it can be a pain but take your time and you will get it installed. On my 68 I cut my old cracked seal and removed the trim. Then removed the old window. Then installed the trim on the new seal after the seal was on the window. Then installed the new sliding window.
