Pictures of West Coast Jr mirrors?

Post by cghstrojan08 »

Anyone have pictures of the West Coast Jr. mirrors? I got a set to put on my truck. I know it used to have them on there since you can see where someone tryed covering the top holes. I took the other mirrors off but there are some holes that look offset from the ones on top. I know on my '69 I though there was something on the inside of the door that was threaded for the lower part.

The lower mounting points were bolted into rivet nuts, or rivnuts, They are inserted into a drilled hole, compressed and crimped. They often get pulled through the sheet metal when the 40 year old bolts get rusted tight and frustrated owners just snatch 'em off. Here's how one member repaired his. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... &start=240 (great work, Tyler!). Halfway down the page.

Sure do. Lost at how they are supposed to go. I looked at the holes on my truck again and the top ones aren't parallel with the bottom ones. Also it is like the top holes are spread out to far.

This doesn't look right.

You can see the holes how they are not parallel.

I think your bottom ones are in the right spot but your top ones are too far back. Ford notched the inside panel at the top so the bolt only had to go through one layer and the 'T' bolts wouldn't stick in so far. On the F600 trucks there are notches in different areas for the larger style mirrors.

This angle isn't the greatest but the mirror bar vertically transcribes the vent window bar. The top mount is a little behind the top of the vent bar, the bottom is a little in front.

The mirrors were dealer installed so they could be configured many different ways. The ones in the bottom pic came off a truck with 17k miles. I plan on putting my three point mirrors on later.
