lurking and looking

Post by stavi »

Hello all, been looking at these forums looking for ideas and knowledge for my next bump! At 15 I worked a summer at my dads friends place for my first pick em up, a 72 camper special wi 'c' package exporer trim. I learned everything on that rig. How to bebuild a carburetor. Tune it. Adjust timing. Change points and condensor. Adjust wheel bearings. Replace drum brakes(dana 60) change oil. The whole bit. It was my baby. Her name was 'plain jane' saddle tan yellow, white wagon wheels and semi truck mudflaps on the rear bumper. I did everything on that truck and it was tops. Really miss it. If anyone has seen such a rig in oregon or southern washington please pm me. Ill pm the oregon plate number to confirm. It had the d on hood missing and filled in(welded shut for some reason) and damage across the drivers side from being laid in a ditch(original owner) I put new grey/blue carpet in and a later model bench seat with headrests. Had a set of sun gauges under the stereo with mechanical oil pressure. Also stereo equalizer for the sears tape deck. Sorry to sound desperate I'm just yearning to be re united! Please pm me if you know any rigs locally that fit this description. Even if its been stripped in a wrecking yard. It was a washigton truck originally. Thanks guys for having such a great forum! I've learned lots from it even being without a ford! Looking forward to learning more. (Truck had a 360 and auto trans. A hole in the middle of the roof for a cb. I covered it with black industrial nashua tape.)

Welcome aboard from Tehama county Ca. Good luck and I see nothing wrong with wanting your 1st wheels back. My 1st was a 49 Ford 2 Dr Cp. Would try and find it, but I know for a fact a uncle of mine cut er up back in 68. I sold it to him and he wanted the flat head V-8, not the body.
