Power Assist removal

Post by Guitarsgetboobs »

I have a 72 f100 4x4 with manual steering and an open knuckle axle. I would like to remove the power assist and replace it with a standard drag link.

did ford use a different tie rod for the power assist units?

If so what are the dimensions? what drag links would work with it?

Thanks.

AFAIK the power assist tie rods are different. I do know that they have the additional hole that the ram atatches to. I think any tie rod up say 75 :? should work.
