Breaking them "side-ways" ;)

Post by Sweetblu »

Quick question about my newly acquired F-250 390 AT

When the ground is wet, I have to apply the gas VERY slow and softly, otherwise my rear end breaks loose. Same thing happens on the freeway when I am at say 50 or so and step on it hard. Is this because I have NO weight in the back, or old OLD tires, or maybe something needs work in my rear suspension? Or just perhaps because it is a beast of an engine?

it could be all of the above. too much torque for the truck with no weight in the back of it. wet weather will do that to alot of vehicles though.it may be just too much engine though.

Is this a rhetorical question? Pavement wet, push down on pedal, tires spin. Hmmmmm, happens to me also. :hmm:

You have to go real gently in wet weather or the tires will spin, even with brand new tires I guess. Bad tires will make it worse of course.

:? My truck does the same thing, what is really strange is when I hook it in 4wd, and stomp the gas in wet weather all 4 wheels spin... Craziest thing I ever did see!  I Love My FE
