1971 f100 360
I also just finished installing a junkyard booster. Everything went smoothly. I'd have to say I'm disappointed. There must be a problem.
First off, the pedal is much closer to the floor (I've read about this one already) but the pedal also doesn't have much travel when I apply the brakes. I apply about as much force as I did without the booster.
What's got me wondering is the rpm's actually drop when I step on the brake. The motor idles too slow and stalls when I stand on the brake. I don't hear a vacuum leak - Should I bump up my idle speed? (~700 now) Is the booster bad? -or- Is this as good as it gets?

The diaphram is bad in the booster. Spartman is right.

Calm down. It is a good feeling isn't it. Just don't let your nose get cold while it is stuck in the clouds.

Junkyard booster is bad. Does your junkyard have an exchange policy for bad parts? If so you could try again.
