got too much positive camber!
i have a 72 f100 shortbed and i took the front suspension out to paint it and rebuild the motor and i had it apart for about a year and now that i put everything back together and dropped my engine in my wheels are looking like this \ / . one of myfriends told me that it could be that the springs stretched out but while im moving the truck around sometimes the wheels get parallel up and down and then i move the truck again and they move back to this \ / . im stuck on this one any input would be helpful. ( i know yall are going to crack on my discription but its the best i could explain)

if it was the same sized and weighted engine then after you drive it the wheels will come back. or you can jack the truck up and let it back down and it may also straighten back up. if it was the same engine weight.

well i did that i put the jack under each beam and it straightened out but then i started to drive it down the street and the wheels moved back to positive camber. the engine is the same weight. i read on another thread that the guy had the same issue where his steering was really sensitive and mine is doing the same thing so im thinking about aligning it and getting my pitman arm checked.

Are you sure the springs are seated in the top spring cup correctly? Sounds to me like it didn't go back together the way it came apart.

If the tie rod is bad, there's NO WAY they aligned it!!bambinoelchicano wrote:it was the alignment i took it to the meineke next door to my job and they told me the left side outer tierod is bad and the alignment was off i didnt cahnge the tierod but aligned it and now it rides nice and the wheels dont move out any more.

And if you continue to drive it with a bad tie rod, it's going to need a LOT more than an alignment...

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

well we aligned it with a tape measure for now and it rides a hell of alot better than it did before because before we "aligned" it, it was all over the road. what else am i going to need if i continue to drive it im just wonderin i mostly move it when i need to im workin on the body now. im waiting to get my alignment for when i get my torq thrust wheels.
