1972 factory wheel colors

Does anybody know for sure what color Ford painted steel wheels from the factory in '72 (body color, any color you want as long as it's white, etc...)? If white, was a particular color used (i.e. Wimbledon White)? If anybody has specific knowledge if the same applies for vans, that'd be much appreciated. I'm working on a '72 E-200. Please be gentle.

Cornthian white was the accepted color but the subject came up on another forum and after doing some very serious digging I found out that 60's trucks actually used a color called refrigerator white. Specifically Ford sold DL60-1292 "refrigerator white" for wheels and bumpers (trust me, that took some serious digging to find this info! LOL). I am not sure if or when they changed but I thought I would mention it as I had always assumed it was corinthian and it turns out that for 60's trucks that is wrong. Hawkrod

i have seen it. i didnt like it but i seen it. maybe it was the color that turned me off. but it all depends on the look you are after also. with the right color it could look good. or maybe it was the wheel covers that made it look bad.

My truck was virtually all original when I got it, and its wheels were white. I have no idea which of the previously mentioned whites it was though. I painted my new steelies body color and I really like the way it looks. But it is just a matter of personal taste and if you want your truck to be original or not. Depending on your truck's color, body-colored wheels may or may not look as good as expected.

Not a 72 but the before picture above is what I remember my 71 F100 having stock and it looked like the same hub caps.
That was a LONG time ago though. I was sitting in the truck while my dad stopped at the local watering hole and another man had an F100 there with the chrome baby moon wheels. He needed money and my dad asked me if I wanted those wheels on our truck. I said Hell yeah and got popped. Still remember that. I think I was about 10
