parts vin?

Post by soulcrushing71 »

When I go to buy my suspension parts, they ask me if it is to a certain number or from a certain number. Anyone know how to shed some light on this for me?
I know it has something to do with my vin code but not sure what

It generally means that a part was changed, modified, improved, etc. by Ford during a production run. If you check the restoration catalogs this was fairly common and they will list a part fitting up through "69 vin 00448 for ex., then the corresponding part after that vin. For example, I have a early in the year 1968 f100 that is equipped with 1967 exterior trim, so the correct part numbers for the trim would be as the '67. For trucks built beginning with the trim used from later '68 on you would use the newer part numbers to select the correct trim. .
