So I'm at my local Pull-a-Part looking around. I come across a 1968 bump and decide to get the booster and brake pivot bracket. I need the differenct brake pivot bracket because I am switching out the one on my 67'. Everything comes off without a hitch. Then I notice "79 ford truck" wrote on the back of the booster. I thought, well I can make it work. I put everything in my barrel and walk on. Then I find a 1974 dent and decide to get the booster of that one. It looked much better and I felt more comfortable about getting that one. I bought a few other things and made my way home.
Anyway, I take the brake pivot bracket out of my 67' and lay it next to the one I got out of a 68'. No difference. I was expecting the 67 to be at 3 7/8" at the pivot and the 68 to be at 5". Oh well, maybe the early 68's had the same bracket. I didn't check the vin because I didn't think there would be a need.
That's my rant for today. I'll try again another day.

I agree with you. All I'm saying is that the one I pulled from what the pull a part called a 68' measured the same. I'm sure it is possible someone put a 67' bracket in the 68' truck. Who ever did it had a 79' booster attached.fordman wrote:the real 67 bracket is shorter.

yes some of the 78/79 stuff will fit but not all of it.
