I found this mention of the dual-diaphragm booster not sure if it is what you were looking for or not though :hmm:
UPDATE: I did hear back from someone with experience in the '73-'79 trucks, who wrote the following regarding '78-'79 power brake boosters:

"...some are direct bolt-in and some others are not. The change was actually in '77 and in the '77-'79 time-frame Ford used a huge number of different boosters and brake pedals. Why they made so many different ones I do not know but most F250 dual diaphragm boosters will bolt in but the F100 and F350 stuff never seems to, based on my experience."
**Edit that info was found a good ways toward the bottom of this page:http://www.fordification.com/tech/clutc ... ackets.htm

No problem, I will check again though and see if I can find anything else if they posted the question to the forums I'm sure someone would come along that already had the info. fresh in their mind though.

Hey I found the info you were talking about, it was actually in one of your posts . Here is the quote:
yes some of the later trucks used the bell crank type of setup. i have seen our type on some of the F100's and one on a 73 F250. here is some info on this page about the later trucks boosters. http://www.fordification.com/tech/clutc ... ackets.htm on a page i couldn't find there is information on when they started using the booster and bracket set up like you show because of the use of the 460 in those trucks. it helped clear the valve cover on the drivers side. the bracket was liek you show it. it made the booster sit higher to clear them and was the single type of diaphram. not the smaller dual diaphragm booster. but the brackets are the same. the boosters that use the bell crank use the same bracket as our trucks did .here is a photo of the other later brackets that usually have to be mated to the booster . but this booster wont work or line up for our trucks. http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... kets24.jpg there is alot more to it on which boosters go with which truck exactly and why. the brackets remained the same though up top 77 1/2 when they were change to that picture. and the rod was changed on some trucks after 77 1/2.
Apparently the dual-diaphragm booster was the smaller of the two .
